The law firm of Fogarty & Fugate was founded by Kelli A. Fogarty and Dean N. Fugate, two attorneys who share similar backgrounds as former prosecutors with extensive real estate experience. Together they saw a need in the real estate industry for a law firm that is simultaneously aggressive, compassionate and accessible to clients and agents. Key to the success of the firm is the understanding that the emotions of a real estate transaction can make the process stressful for even the most experienced buyer or seller. Our practice is dedicated to ensuring that our clients are always fully informed to make the best possible decisions. We invite you to discover the difference we can make for you.
Attorneys who approach the closing process with the same dedication as a litigator preparing for trial.
Law partners who are also husband and wife, Dean and Kelli met in circumstances few would find romantic: prosecuting felony cases together in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. As experienced trial attorneys who share a love of Chicago and its architecture, Kelli and Dean approach the closing process with the same dedication a litigator brings when preparing for trial: always thinking several steps ahead, anticipating all potential issues that may arise during the transaction, which allows clients to avoid potential pitfalls before they even know they’re there. Battle-tested in the adversarial world of criminal litigation and veterans of thousands of real estate closings, the pair has developed a unique perspective which empowers them to approach each transaction with the resolve it requires, tempered with a levity that recognizes that buying or selling a home should be a happy and exciting time in peoples’ lives. Adding to their list of accolades the firm was recently chosen for the 2020 Who’s Who in Chicago Real Estate by Chicago Agent Magazine.
KELLI FOGARTY
Attorney and Counselor at Law
Kelli has practiced real estate law since graduating from law school in 2000 and has closed thousands of properties as an attorney. She believes that the key to a good attorney client relationship, and a successful closing, is open communication. Open communication requires working as a team with not only the client but also the client’s lender and real estate agent. It is this team approach that has made Kelli a preferred attorney for several of Chicago’s biggest producing real estate agents.
Kelli frequently lectures on legal issues pertinent to today’s challenging real estate market. Kelli received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago Law School where she was awarded the prestigious Corboy Fellowship and her B.A. in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University.
